The famous clock shop “Li Jim Kee” has been a famous brand for more than one hundred years around Canton, Hong Kong and Macao. Its founder, Li Lanhing, had a very legendary life at the end of the 19th century.

In the 1890s, Li Lanhing was a clock- apprentice in Hong Kong. So soon as he finished his apprenticeship, he had obtained the reputation amongst customers to be skilful and professional. The owner of the shop where he was working also appreciated his ability and dedication; therefore, he had more income than the average at that time. As time went by, he gradually became the prominent figure in clock-making industry.

When asked by a friend, “how far is Guangzhou Airport from the urban area”, I always did not know how to answer so soon as the old airport was still running. Perhaps it could be ” Just in the urban area!” That old, old airport in the downtown made people nearby feel that planes taking off had just the distance to nearly shave their hair.
